MAY 2017
BIG CHANGES at Skye Blue Yoga. Settle in for a long read!
Much has changed at Skye Blue Yoga in the last 24 hours so I'll explain: Ten days ago I received a phone call from a pesticide company letting me know the studio building would be sprayed for bugs.
I requested that my yoga studio not be sprayed and they agreed.
I also suggested that only the outside perimeter be sprayed rather than inside. They did not agree.
Yesterday afternoon I received an email informing me that my
studio (and all of the interior and exterior) would be sprayed tomorrow, regardless of my request.
I explained that I was sensitive to pesticides, some of my students are, and that we lay our mats on the floor, we walk barefoot on the floor, we have body parts on the floor and wall, our faces are close to the floor, etc.
Not to mention that we use the common areas and bathrooms that will also be sprayed.
I cannot in good health and in good conscience stay in my studio room after it's been sprayed. AND it will be sprayed on a regular basis throughout the summer and fall. There was no spraying prior to me moving in, last October.
The property manager said they would release me from my lease so I hope to get back the rent I just paid as well as my deposit. Once that happens I will look for another studio.

Please keep your eyes and ears open for me if you know of anything!
Today I packed up my studio, storing the shelves, props, books, mats, etc in my garage (see attached photo) so I'll be able easily get them out when I find another studio
:)
I may be able to teach one class a week at Penrose Community Library, not sure yet as they are busy with their own programs and the Summer Reading Program coming up. I'll send out another email when I have that in place.
For now, there will be NO YOGA CLASSES in May. I hope to be in a new studio to resume yoga classes during the summer. I'll keep you posted.
I honor each of you, for the light and goodness you bring into my life, and I am deeply grateful for your support of my yoga studio over the last year and a half.
I continue to teach a Gentle Yoga class, Saturdays, Noon- 1:15, at River Lotus Yoga in Canon City, 504 Main Street, so catch a class with me there. Visit their website for more information.
Please feel free to contact me with any concerns or questions - namaste....
